Lazio's "Healthy Advice" returns to the Auditorium with three days of free screenings.

Over 1,000 visitors attended the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome over three days for "Un Consiglio in Salute," the free prevention program for the public, organized by the Lazio Regional Council. The event, running from today until Wednesday, will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is organized thanks to the collaboration of the ASL Roma 1, Federfarma Roma, the Order of Pharmacists of the Province of Rome, FIMMG (Italian Federation of General Practitioners), Cittadinanzattiva Lazio, OPINRoma (Order of Nursing Professions), OFI Lazio (Order of Physiotherapists), IIsmea (International Institute of Medical, Anthropological and Social Sciences), and Donna Donna Onlus.
The initiative, now in its third year following those on Via della Pisana and the Porta di Roma shopping center, is open to all citizens: all you need to do is show up with an ID and health insurance card. The facilities will offer mammography, colorectal and cervical screening, skin melanoma screening, obesity screening, HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccination, and HCV (hepatitis C) testing. An information campaign on eating disorders is also planned, as well as dedicated spaces for personal and prescription medicine, physical activity, active aging, and lifestyle.
For Regional Council President Antonello Aurigemma, "this is a turning point in prevention and screening, which are the fundamental pillars of the healthcare system. Thanks go to all the professional associations present who made it possible to put together a system that will then become operational with the opening of community centers and health centers." Throughout all of this, Aurigemma continues, "there will be the collaboration and participation of politicians, who must play a coordinating role among all these stakeholders to enable immediate responses."
Over a thousand screenings, confirms the president of the regional council: "These are significant numbers, which allow us to provide a coherent framework for a system, to change the culture of prevention. Too often, in fact, prevention has been considered a cost for administrations, when in fact it is an investment that yields results over time."
For Giuseppe Quintavalle, Director General of the ASL Roma 1, "today we are writing a small chapter," highlighting "two important issues: the mental health needs, especially of the youngest, and we must remember that the population is aging." According to the Director General of the ASL Roma 1, "the music must sound differently: no longer soloists, but a true orchestra. Only in this way will we achieve both sustainability and the ability to shift settings from waste to profit, and prioritize addressing the stratification of the primary well-being of a population that wants to stay healthy."
These initiatives, Quintavalle continued, aim to "reintroduce our citizens and our Region to the important concept of prevention, addressing ourselves when we're healthy, not when we're already sick and in need of hospital care. This initiative tells our citizens 'trust the regional health service.'"
